MnDOT’s Beth Petrowske is not the person to call about the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) Highway 61 work that will occur in Grand Marais in 2020 and 2021.
Beth’s name and work telephone number appeared on paper signs that were tagged to 11 elm trees that are within the Highway 61 corridor of downtown Grand Marais and are slated by MnDOT to be cut down this fall.
Instead, Beth said that anyone with questions about the elm trees or any other concern about the project should contact Michael Kalnbach. “He’s the assistant engineer for Northeast Minnesota,” said Petrowske. “It’s often said that it takes five calls to MnDOT to get the person you want to speak to and we want to make it easier for people with questions.”
Michael’s phone number is 218- 725-2745.
