Cook County Hockey players made their presence known in Duluth this past weekend at the Woodland Glen Avon Tournament. The games were played at outdoor rinks so Cook County players felt right at home. Both the M-1 and M-2 teams were generously sponsored by Grand Portage Casino. The players, coaches and parents would like to thank Grand Portage for their continued support of Cook County Hockey!
It was a perfect weekend for players and spectators alike. The temperature was mild, the wind barely blew and just a few flakes of snow fell to the surface of the rink the entire weekend. The M-2 Team had three wins and 0 losses over the weekend and scored over 20 goals. Goalie Cameron Roy shut out the Portman Black Team and Chase Gwash did a great job as goalie against Gary Morgan Park.
The team looked solid during all three of their games. The offensive line passed crisply and hammered the net with shots on goal. Jayden Grivette made his first goal of the season while Alyssa Lashinski shot time after time without luck on her side. Thedefense kept almost all of the action on the opposite end of the rink with some fast skating and good stick work. Theteam will play its last games of the season in Silver Bay the weekend of February 26.
Come cheer for these hardworking boys and girls and join the fun and excitement of Cook County Hockey.
