Miriam Sletten Holt was born March 22, 1932 to Paul and Inga Holt in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She grew up across the street from the boy she would eventually marry. She graduated from Roosevelt High and attended St. Olaf College. Because of love that was true and real, she left St. Olaf to marry Howard Wellumson on June 7, 1952. That love grew for 59 years until Howard went home to heaven in 2011.
Miriam received strength, peace and joy from knowing Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Her daily diet included God’s Word, prayer and hymns. Because of this, she had endless love, compassion, and kindness for others.
In Miriam’s later years she suffered from dementia. While her ability to communicate with words slowly disappeared and her memory failed, her ability to give and receive love was untouched until the day Jesus took her home on May 6, 2015.
Though missed here, we rejoice that she is now healed and able to sing perfect praises to her God.
