A Lutsen man suffered non-life-threatening injuries when he lost control of his vehicle on Highway 61 in Tofte at 4:24 p.m. on August 9.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Dennis C. Schutte, 50, was traveling eastbound near Chateau LeVeaux in a 2000 Jeep Cherokee when he drifted off to the left side of the roadway. Schutte turned right to get back onto the road and lost control, causing the Jeep to go off the right side of the highway and roll over.
The Tofte First Responders, Tofte Fire Department, and Cook County Ambulance were all paged at 4:29 p.m. Tofte responders were on scene at 4:34 p.m. and the ambulance by 4:50 p.m.
The driver was transported to the hospital. He was wearing his seatbelt.
The Jeep was totaled. It was towed from the scene by Cook County Towing.
