An Ojibwe word, meaning “in the north, inland, in the woods,” Noopiming
is the title of Minneapolis composer Mike
Olson’s fragment-based choral composition.
The North Shore Music Association d
e is honored to host this performance at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8 at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts.
Having visited the BWCA since his youth, Olson’s love of the region inspired this a cappella
piece, which he has paired with the slide photography of BWCA photographer Dale Robert Klous.
Tickets are available in advance or at the door. For more information, call the North Shore Music Association at 387- 1272.
