Memorial Blood Centers coming to Grand Marais

Local nonprofit Memorial Blood Centers is calling all eligible blood and platelet donors to step up and help save lives.

On January 20, the Grand Marais Community Center will be the site of a blood drive sponsored by Edward Jones. The blood drive will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Blood donation is safe and essential, and MBC has a COVID-19 self-screening policy in addition to general eligibility guidelines. In general, you may be eligible to donate if you are in good health, 17 years or older—or 16 with parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds, be free of antibiotics for 24 hours (unless taken for preventive reasons), and be symptom free for at least 72 hours following cold or flu.

Visit MBC.org to find your nearest blood drive or donor center.
