Memorial Blood Center coming to North Shore




According to the Memorial Blood Center, one blood donation can save as many as three lives. You can be a hero to someone through the simple act of donating blood. An opportunity is coming up to help fill the need in the Duluth/ Superior and Arrowhead Region. The “bloodmobile” will be visiting the North Shore in November. Call to schedule an appointment to donate today.

The “bloodmobile” will be on the West End of Cook County on Tuesday, November 11 from 2:30 – 6 p.m. at Zoar Lutheran Church. To schedule an appointment at Zoar, call Julie Rannetsberger at (218) 663-7111.

Memorial Blood Center will also be at Northshore Mining in Silver Bay on Tuesday, November 11, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. To schedule an appointment, contact Michele at (218) 740-1541.

On November 12 the “bloodmobile” will be at the Evangelical Free Church from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. To schedule a donation for that visit, contact Jean Eisenberger at (218) 387-2212.

Another donation opportunity will be at Cook County High School on Thursday, November 13, 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Contact Pam at (218) 387-2273.

To meet the needs of hospitals in northeastern Minnesota, Memorial Blood Centers must collect at least 2,400 units of blood each week.

The donation process takes approximately 45 minutes and includes registration, a mini-physical and the donation, with the actual donation time being less than 10 minutes. Donors must be at least 17 years old, in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds.
