Meet the Class of 2010











Randee Jade Folen is the daughter of Brook Folen and Matt Pedersen, both of Lutsen. Randee was a member of Girl Scouts in 5th – 7th grades. She was also a member of the Cook County Robotics Team in 12th grade and Viking yearbook staff in 10th and 12th grades. After graduation she will be attending CCU in the fall of 2010 to earn her cosmetology license. Randee said, “I would like to thank my family and friends for everything they have ever done for me. Thank you so much!”

Tyler James Goldstein is the son of Kelli Goldstein of Grand Marais. Tyler participated in band from 6 – 12th grades—Pep Band in 9 – 12th and Honor Band in 11th grade. He also participated in the One Act Play in 12th grade and was a member of Dice Rollers Anonymous in 6 -12th grades. After graduation Tyler plans to go to St. Cloud Technical College to major in culinary arts. He also plans to have some road trips with close friends to different places in the country. Tyler added,

I would also like to thank Nathan and Sarah Hingos and everyone else at Crooked Spoon who helped me in my dream of being a chef. I will miss everyone—at school, my family, people in the community, and people outside the community who have affected my life.”

Bryan Douglas VanDoren is the son of Mary and Charles VanDoren of Schroeder. During school, Bryan participated in “WEDT ” and “TFSU” and worked in mechanics. His motto? “It’s broken. I fix it.” After graduation he will be attending Mesabi Range Technical School for Welding and Mechanics. Bryan said,

Bryan Douglas VanDoren is the son of Mary and Charles VanDoren of Schroeder. During school, Bryan participated in “WEDT ” and “TFSU” and worked in mechanics. His motto? “It’s broken. I fix it.” After graduation he will be attending Mesabi Range Technical School for Welding and Mechanics. Bryan said, “Thank you to my family for everything; to my girlfriend for putting up with me; and my friends for the humor.”

Erica Jeanne Borson is the daughter of Peter and Nichole Borson of Schroeder. Erica was a member of Sterling Dance from age 3 to the 10th grade and was a member of the Vikettes Dance Team in 11th grade. She participated in band in 6 – 9th, 11 and 12th grades, golf in 11 – 12th grades, and in One Act Play in 12th grade. Erica also enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling, hanging out with friends— and laughing! After graduation Erica plans to attend the University of Wisconsin, Superior. She wants to be a writer one day, so she said with a smile, “Look for me in the book stores, under ‘the next William Shakespeare.’” Erica said she also wants to travel to New York. Erica said, “I would love to thank my family, especially my parents for their love and support. I would like to tell my sister Hanna to have fun and always be herself. I love you very much. “Also thanks to the Olsen family for being such a great second family to me, especially CeCe and Clara. I love you girls so much! You are going to do wonderful things. “Finally to the rest of my friends, I love how we never stop laughing and I will never forget it.”
