The Human Development Center (HDC) recently announced the appointment of program supervisors for HDC’s Lake and Cook County offices. Matthew Webb, PsyD, LP will supervise HDC’s Grand Marais office, and Cecilia Bloomquist, MSW, LICSW will supervise HDC’s Lake County offices in Two Harbors and Silver Bay.
Bloomquist graduated from UMD with her MSW degree. She has worked as a psychotherapist in HDC’s Grand Marais office for three years and has resided on the North Shore since 2008. Cecilia has worked with a wide range of clients, from very young children to eldercare issues.
“In her time at HDC she has repeatedly gone above and beyond to serve clients, including traveling to meet the client, if they are unable to get to HDC’s offices. HDC’s Lake County programs will be well served having Cecilia as their supervisor,” said Jim Getchell, HDC’s executive director.
Cecilia has great community connectedness that will benefit her in her new role as the supervisor for HDC’s Lake County offices.
Dr. Matt Webb has worked as psychological trainee and once fully licensed, as a psychologist in HDC’s Cook County office. Getchell said in that capacity Webb has forged wonderful working relationships with community agencies including Grand Portage Human Services, Grand Portage school and Grand Marais public schools and Cook County Health and Human Services.
“HDC is fortunate to have him as s a highly skilled clinician, and community builder overseeing our Grand Marais offices,” stated Getchell.
Webb said, “I am thrilled to be in this position. Our relationship with other community agencies is great, we have skilled and professional staff working on our team, and there is the growing word that HDC does great work. I think the sky is the limit with what our office and organization as a whole can accomplish.”
HDC is a private, non-profit community mental health center that was established in 1938. HDC serves residents in Carlton, Cook, Lake, and southern St. Louis counties in northeastern Minnesota, and Douglas County in northwestern Wisconsin.
