The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the potential punishment exceeds $150 and/or 10 days in jail. It is the Cook County News-Herald’s policy that this information contains a complete record. Requests for items to be withheld will not be granted.
Michael Allen Lafreniere, 19, Grand Marais, pled guilty Dec. 26 to speeding (84/55) on Nov. 12, and was fined $290.
Donald Joseph Dvorak, 57, Esko, pled guilty Dec. 30 to a Fish & Game violation (lend, borrow or transfer a license, tag or seal) on Sept. 2, 2011, and was fined $190.
Frank Angus McKay, 61, Ontario, pled guilty Dec. 30 to speeding (50/40) and driving after suspension on Dec. 1, and was fined $330.
Donovan David Dahmen, 44, Grand Portage, pled guilty Dec. 9 to charges of assault in the fifth degree filed April 11, the court having dismissed an additional charge of domestic assault. Sentenced Jan. 13 to 90 days in jail, stayed one year with supervised probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $200 fine plus court costs and fees for a total of $290.
Paul Stephen Dunne, 55, Bloomington, pled guilty Jan. 13 to charges of DUI and illegal transport of a firearm in a vehicle filed Nov. 9, the court having dismissed additional charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and open bottle. Sentenced to 60 days in jail, stayed one year with unsupervised probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine (half of which was stayed) plus court costs and fees for a total of $590.
