Matters of Record




The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the potential punishment exceeds $150 and/or 10 days in jail. It is the Cook County News-Herald’s policy that this information contains a complete record. Requests for items to be withheld will not be granted.

Tiffany Samantha Corwin, 20, Grand Marais, pled guilty Aug. 13 to minor consumption of liquor on June 29, the court having dismissed an additional charge of disorderly conduct. Fined $200, half of which was stayed until Nov. 13, and ordered to pay court costs and fees totaling $190.

Peter Curtis Gagnon, 32, Grand Portage, pled guilty May 28 to charges of DWI filed March 28, additional charges of driving after cancellation, open bottle and possession of drug paraphernalia having been dismissed by the court. Sentenced Aug. 13 to 365 days in jail, stayed three years with supervised probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $700 fine plus court costs and fees for a total of $815.

Michael Robinson, 26, Canada, pled guilty Aug. 12 to felony charges of possession of a controlled substance filed April 20, and was granted a stay of adjudication and placed on two years of unsupervised probation with conditions and ordered to pay court costs of $1,500.

Lee Jaehoon, 25, Seoul, Korea, pled guilty Aug. 13 to speeding (70/45) on Aug. 4, and was fined $230.

Travis Michael Smith, 30, Forest Lake, pled guilty April 15 to charges of DWI filed May 19, and was sentenced Aug. 12 to 90 days in jail, stayed two years with supervised probation and conditions.
