Matters of Record




The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the potential punishment exceeds $150 and/or 10 days in jail. It is the Cook County News-Herald’s policy that this information contains a complete record. Requests for items to be withheld will not be granted.

Fred Henry Wenzel, 60, Forest Lake, pled guilty March 19 to a DNR game and fish violation (possess fish that was unlawfully taken in Canada) on Aug. 11, 2012, and was fined $185.

Dennis Michael Archambeau, 55, Duluth, pled guilty March 25 to charges of careless driving, possession or sale of drugs and drug paraphernalia filed Feb. 5, additional charges of no proof of insurance, expiration of driver’s license and DWI having been dismissed by the court. Sentenced to 90 days in jail, stayed one year with supervised probation and conditions, fined $500 and ordered to pay court costs and fees for a total of $590.

David Daniel Enfield, 37, Sharon, N.D., pled guilty March 26 to charges of DWI filed Dec. 30, 2011, and was sentenced to 60 days in jail, stayed one year with unsupervised probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court costs and fees for a total of $590.

Zygmunt Grzelewski, 52, Ontario, pled guilty March 26 to speeding (73/55) on March 16, and was fined $150.

Richard Wayne Larsen, 37, Grand Marais, pled guilty March 4 to charges of DWI filed Dec. 20, the court having dismissed additional charges of terroristic threats, fleeing a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sentenced March 26 to one year in jail, stayed three years with supervised probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $700 fine plus court costs and fees for a total of $815.

Garren Douglas McFarlane, 33, Mount Pleasant, Mich., pled guilty March 25 to charges of DWI filed June 6, 2010, additional charges of possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and open bottle having been dismissed by the court. Sentenced to 90 days in jail, stayed two years with supervised probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court costs and fees for a total of $590.
