The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the potential punishment exceeds $150 and/or 10 days in jail. It is the Cook County News-Herald’s policy that this information contains a complete record. Requests for items to be withheld will not be granted.
Cheryl Ann James, 23, Grand Portage, pled guilty July 17 to charges of trespass filed Jan. 12 and driving after suspension on April 6, 2011 and May 22, 2011, the court having dismissed an additional charge of no proof of insurance and trespass. Sentenced Aug. 29 to 45 days in jail and one year supervised probation with conditions, and ordered to pay $600 in fines plus court costs and fees for a total of $690.
James Patrick Smith, 41, Grand Marais, pled guilty Sept. 14 to driving after suspension and no proof of insurance on July 1, and was fined $490.
Aaron Joseph Gillingham, 23, Ontario, pled guilty Sept. 12 to speeding (74/55) on Sept. 1, and was fined $150.
Richard Leo Taylor, 66, Savage, pled guilty Sept. 15 to a DNR violation (take or possess fish over limit) on Sept. 4, and was fined $170.
