The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the potential punishment exceeds $100 and/ or 10 days in jail. Dallas Jeremi Torgerson, 25, Duluth, pled guilty June 15 to issuance of a dishonored check on Aug. 1, 2008, and was sentenced to 19 months at the state correctional facility at St. Cloud, stayed three months with probation.
Renee Joy Nelson, 33, Eureka, Mo., pled guilty June 17 to speeding (68/40) on May 24, and was fined $290.
Richard Robert Bresser, 58, Elko, pled guilty June 17 to possession/sale small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on May 29, and was ordered to pay a fine plus court costs and fees totaling $205.
Susan Alane Callies, 45, Apple Valley, pled guilty June 24 to speeding (73/50) on June 21, and was fined $230.
Marc Arend Johnson, 41, Isabella, pled guilty July 7 to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) filed May 10, the court having dismissed additional charges of driving after cancellation. Sentenced to 42 months at the state correctional facility at St. Cloud, stayed five years with probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $300 fine plus court costs and fees. In addition, the defendant must serve 90 days at the county jail.
Michael Phillip Knight, 24, Superior, Wis., pled guilty July 7 to charges of DUI filed Feb. 14. Sentenced to 48 months at the state correctional facility, stayed seven years with supervised probation, and ordered to pay a $50 fine plus court costs and fees. The defendant must also serve 120 days in the county jail.
Jackson Erwin Kluck, 19, Oklahoma City, Okla., pled guilty July 6 to possession of over 1.4 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia, and was fined $305.
