The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the potential punishment exceeds $150 and/or 10 days in jail. It is the Cook County News- Herald’s policy that this information contains a complete record. Requests for items to be withheld will not be granted.

Kristen Renee Lawson, 34,
Brooklyn Center, pled guilty Oct. 7
to charges of expiration of driver’s
license filed Sept. 9, and was fined
$190.
Laura Cathleen Godfrey, 35, Prior
Lake, pled guilty Oct. 10 to speeding
(68/50) on Aug. 21, and was fined
$150.
Davelle Louise Johnson, 30,
Grand Portage, pled guilty Oct. 12
to charges of drug and paraphernalia possession filed July 21, and was
fined $190.
Tanya Marie Szczech, 22, Grand
Portage, pled guilty Aug. 6 to charges
of uninsured vehicle and failure to
transfer title filed May 7. Ordered
Oct. 12 to pay a $300 fine plus court
costs and fees for a total of $390.
Scott Allan Wiuff, 49, Owatonna,
pled guilty Oct. 13 to speeding
(70/55) on Sept. 8, and was fined
$150.
Erik David Christiansen, 23,
Grand Portage, pled guilty Oct. 17 to
charges of issuance of a dishonored
check on Jan. 13, 2009, and was sentenced to one year of unsupervised
probation and ordered to pay a $100
fine, restitution of $151.34 plus court
costs and fees for a total of $341.34.
Richard Steven Fussell, 25, Grand
Marais, pled guilty Oct. 17 to charges
of driving while intoxicated on Sept.
14, the court having dismissed an
additional charge of expired driver’s license. Sentenced to 60 days in
jail, stayed two years with supervised probation and conditions, and
ordered to pay a $700 fine plus court
costs and fees for a total of $815.
Michael John Seglem, 25, Grand
Marais, pled guilty June 22 to felony
charges of criminal sexual conduct
filed Sept. 23, 2010. Sentenced Oct.
17 to 41 months at the state correctional facility at St. Cloud and
fined $50. Court costs and fees were
waived.

Lee Hansene Hall, 21, Grand
Marais, pled guilty Sept. 21 to
charges of underage drinking and
driving filed Aug. 17, the court
having dismissed an additional
charge of driver allowing an open
bottle. Sentenced Oct. 17 to 60 days
in jail, stayed two years with supervised probation and conditions, and
ordered to pay a $300 fine plus court
costs and fees for a total of $415.
Timothy Kenneth Kroska, 42,
Grand Marais, pled guilty Sept. 20 to
charges of driving while impaired on
Feb. 11 and disorderly conduct on
May 2, the court having dismissed
an additional charge of domestic
assault. Sentenced Oct. 18 to one
year in jail, stayed two years with
supervised probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $500 fine
plus court costs and fees of $115.
Payment of the fine was stayed until
April 18, 2012.
Preston James Olson, 19, Grand
Portage, pled guilty Sept. 20 to
felony charges of assault filed Dec.
31, 2010, the court having dismissed
additional charges of criminal sexual
conduct. Sentenced Oct. 18 to 180
days in jail and four years of supervised probation with conditions, and
ordered to pay a $500 fine.
William Joseph Owens, 32,
Merrill, Wis., pled guilty Oct. 18
to domestic assault on June 21 and
was sentenced to two years of supervised probation with conditions and
ordered to pay a $50 fine.
Alicia Rose Hein, 31, Duluth, pled
guilty Sept. 20 to charges of driving
while intoxicated filed April 9, the
court having dismissed additional
charges of open bottle law violation, driving after suspension and
no proof of insurance. Sentenced
Oct. 18 to 365 days in jail, 276 days
of which were stayed for three years
with supervised probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $500
fine plus costs and fees for a total of
$590.
Shweta Naresh Chhungani, 20,
Rochester, pled guilty Oct. 17 to
felony charges of damage to property filed Aug. 26, 2010, the court
having dismissed additional charges
of tampering with a witness (prevent testimony) and theft. Granted
a continuance for dismissal, ordered
to serve four years of probation with
conditions, and to pay a $500 fine,
$500 court costs and $3,740.84 restitution.
