The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the punishment exceeds $150 and/or ten days in jail and/or includes one year of supervised adult probation. Chace Brendon Gengler, 19, Grand Portage, Minnesota, pled guilty on January 31, 2022, to a gross misdemeanor of 4th Degree Burglary, committed on April 11, 2021. Sentenced on March 14, 2022, to one year supervised adult probation, Local Confinement (365 Days with credit for time served: 7 Days) and conditions of behavior. On January 31, 2022, Gengler pled guilty to a gross misdemeanor of Operating a Motor Vehicle with blood alcohol concentration higher than 0.08 within two hours of the incident, and to a misdemeanor of Disorderly Conduct – Brawling or Fighting, on September 24, 2021. Cases are concurrent. Fines and fees total $2085.
Dustin John Nelson, 39, Grand Marais, Minnesota, pled guilty on March 14, 2022, to two petty misdemeanors: 1) Violating the Open bottle law in traffic, and 2) Ignoring Duty to Drive with Due Care, Speed was Greater than Reasonable, on October 30, 2021. Fines and fees total $590.
