The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the punishment exceeds $150 and/or ten days in jail and/or includes one year of supervised adult probation. It is the Cook County News-Herald’s policy that this information contains a complete record. Requests for items to be withheld will not be granted

Nicholas Joe Bennett, 35, LaCrosse, Wisconsin, pled guilty on January 26, 2022, to a misdemeanor of DWI – Fourth Degree Driving While Impaired, on November 25, 2021. Sentenced to one-year unsupervised adult probation, local confinement (60 Days stayed for one year), and conditions of behavior. Fines and fees total $2085.

Thomas Anthony LaFreniere, Jr., 35, Grand Marais, Minnesota, pled guilty on December 13, 2021, to a misdemeanor of Domestic Assault – Causing Fear, on October 15, 2021. Disposition was Stay of Adjudication with Court Decision Continued on January 24, 2022. Requirements include two years of supervised adult probation, local confinement (4 Days credit for time served: 4 Days), and conditions of behavior. No fines or fees on record.

Miguel Angel Rodriguez-Marrero, 58, Tofte, Minnesota, pled guilty on January 24, 2022, to a misdemeanor of DWI – Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol, on September 29, 2021. Sentenced to one year unsupervised adult probation, local confinement (60 Days, 59 Days stayed for one year with credit for time served: one day), and conditions of behavior. Fines and fees total $2160.

David John Erickson, 44, Silver Bay, Minnesota, pled guilty on January 26, 2022, to a petty misdemeanor of Driving After Revocation of License, on September 8, 2015 (year on record). Fines and fees total $290.

Derek Michael Jorgensen, 21, Mankato, Minnesota, pled guilty on November 22, 2021, to a felony of Criminal Sex Conduct – 3rd Degree – where Victim is between ages 13-15 and Actor is greater than 24 months older, on October 26, 2020. Disposition was Stay of Adjudication with Court Decision Continued on January 28, 2022. Requirements include local confinement (3 Days with credit for time served: 3 Days), four years of supervised adult probation, and conditions of behavior. No fines or fees on record. Concerning a second felony committed on October 28, 2020: Drugs – 5th Degree, Disposition was Stay of Adjudication with Court Decision Continued on January 28, 2022. Requirements include local confinement (3 Days with credit for time served: 3 Days), four years of supervised adult probation, and conditions of behavior. No fines or fees on record.

Mark James Sierakowski, 64, Minneapolis, Minnesota, pled guilty to a petty misdemeanor of Possessing a motor snowmobile, ATV, or other mechanized equipment without permit in the BWCAW, on January 15, 2022. Fines and fees total $185.

Pachay Shoua Xiong, 56, North Saint Paul, Minnesota, pled not guilty on July 26, 2021, but was convicted, of a petty misdemeanor of Traffic Speeding in a Special Zone set by the Commissioner 59/40, on May 30, 2021. Fines and fees total $195.

Lucas Clate Conner, 24, South Range, Wisconsin, pled guilty on January 29, 2022, to a petty misdemeanor of Possessing/Using Non-preserved Minnows on a Designated Trout Lake, on January 15, 2022. Fines and fees total $185.
