Kent Joseph Roers, 44, Independence, Minnesota, pled guilty on January 13, 2021, to a petty misdemeanor of permitting unlawful operation of an ATV – Prohibitions on Youthful Operators, on September 4, 2020. Fines and fees total $185.
James Patrick Shawn Smith, 50, Grand Rapids, Minnesota, pled guilty on December 7, 2020, to a gross misdemeanor of issuing a dishonored check with value more than $250-$500 on March 3, 2020. Convicted and sentenced on January 11, 2021, to local confinement (365 days stayed for two years with credit for ten days served), two years supervised adult probation, and conditions of behavior. Fines, fees, and restitution ($946.66) total $1206.66.
John Henry Skadberg, 48, Grand Marais, Minnesota, pled guilty on Janurary 11, to a misdemeanor of a traffic DWI – Refusing to submit to a chemical test, blood or urine as required by a search warrant, on September 18, 2020. Sentenced to local confinement (60 days stayed for one year), one year of adult probation to the court, and conditions of behavior. Fines and fees total $2085.
Rory Ralph Tesser, 51, Grand Portage, Minnesota, pled guilty on November 13, 2017, to a gross misdemeanor of criminal sex conduct (Fifth degree non-consensual sex contact) on October 9, 2017. Disposition on January 8, 2018 was Stay of adjudication. Amended Court Decision on January 14, 2021 Continued. Requirements include two years of supervised adult probation, four years six days of unsupervised adult probation, local confinement (two days credit for time served), and conditions of behavior. Fees total $1000.
