Matters of Record


The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the potential punishment exceeds $150 and/or 10 days in jail. It is the Cook County News-Herald’s policy that this information contains a complete record. Requests for items to be withheld will not be granted.

Steve Edward Shaw, 37, Isanti, pled guilty Oct. 31 to a DNR hunting violation (transportation of loaded firearms) and failure to display a valid ATV registration/decal on Sept. 1, and was fined $210.

Kurtis Andrew Hulett, 40, Taylor, Wis., pled guilty Oct. 29 to charges of driving while impaired filed Sept. 13, the court having dismissed an additional charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. Sentenced to 60 days in jail, stayed one year with probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus court costs and fees for a total of $1,085.

Brian Richard Haroldson, 59, Anoka, pled guilty Nov. 5 to a DNR hunting violation (transportation of loaded firearms) on Oct. 29, and was fined $185.

Britta Grace Andress, 22, Lutsen, pled guilty Nov. 6 to wireless communication device violation, and no seat belt use on Aug. 24, and was fined $160.

Keith Robert Murphy, 31, Kansas City, Mo., pled guilty Nov. 6 to speeding (70/45) on Aug. 26, and was fined $225.

Lynden Graham Blomberg, 18, Grand Marais, pled guilty Nov. 13 to charges of possession of over 1.4 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle, and possession of liquor by a person under 21 years of age filed Oct. 12, and was fined $335.
