Esten Jacob Nelson, 42, Grand Marais, pled guilty April 8 to
misdemeanor charges of domestic assault and felony charges
of terroristic threats (reckless disregard) filed Aug. 3, 2018, the
court having dismissed additional charges of domestic assault
by strangulation and second-degree assault with a dangerous
weapon. Sentenced June 10 to 90 days in jail, stayed two years
with supervised probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a
$600 fine plus court costs and fees for a total of $690.
Gregory Robert Howe, 20, Grand Marais, pled guilty June 21
to operating a motor vehicle after license suspension/revocation, cancellation on May 16, and was fined $285.
Roger Martin Olthouse, 26, Goldendale, Wash., pled guilty
June 21 to speeding (69/55) and driving after revocation on
March 21, 2017, and was fined $340.
Nathan Daniel Hingos, 43, Grand Marais, pled guilty July 8
to charges of reckless driving and speeding (90/55) filed June 7,
the court having dismissed additional charges of possession of a
small amount of marijuana and fleeing a peace officer in a motor
vehicle, and was fined $500.
Todd Joseph Holen, 52, Grand Marais, pled guilty July 8 to
charges of driving while impaired filed May 19, and was sentenced to 60 days in jail, stayed one year with probation and
conditions, and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus court costs and
fees for a total of $1,085.
Riley Lorraine Knapp, 20, Wausau, Wis., pled guilty July 8 to
speeding (70/40) on June 29, and was fined $285.
Steven Richard Leck, 50, Duluth, pled guilty July 8 to charges
of driving while impaired on March 18, the court having dismissed additional charges of refusal to submit to a chemical
test or breath test failure, and possession of an open bottle.
Sentenced to 60 days in jail, stayed one year with probation and
conditions, and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus court costs and
fees for a total of $1,160.
Bret Tyson Berka, 46, Grand Marais, pled guilty May 13 to
felony and gross misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree filed April 13, the court
having dismissed additional charges of child endangerment and
possession or use of drug paraphernalia. Sentenced July 8 to
three years supervised probation with conditions, and ordered
to pay fines and court costs totaling $600.

Randall Odas Lynn, 22, Eagle Lake, pled guilty July 5 to speeding in a school zone (30/20) on April 25, and was fined $165.
Franklin Nicholas Manthey, 24, Grand Portage, pled guilty
July 9 to charges of disorderly conduct (brawling or fighting)
and criminal damage to property filed June 10, the court having
dismissed additional charges of burglary in the first degree,
obstructing the legal process with force, trespass, and fleeing
(other than vehicle). Sentenced to 90 days in jail, stayed one year
with supervised probation and conditions, and ordered to pay
fines, court costs and fees totaling $685.
Ryan Robert Murray, 38, Long Prairie, pled guilty May 13 to
felony charges of theft filed Feb. 10, the court having dismissed
additional related charges; and felony charges of possession
of drugs filed March 4, the court having dismissed additional
charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of
a small amount of marijuana. Sentenced July 8 to three years
supervised probation with conditions, and ordered to pay a
$1,000 fine plus court costs and fees for a total of $2,170.
Bradley Joseph Wilson, 42, Duluth, pled guilty May 13 to two
felony charges of threats of violence filed Jan. 26. Sentenced July
8 to 60 days in jail, placed on supervised probation for 10 years
with conditions, and ordered to pay a $300 fine plus court costs
and fees for a total of $385.
Michael Joseph Flatley, 42, Grand Portage, was convicted
July 9 of DWI (driving while impaired) and failure to stop for
a collision (driven or attended vehicle) on Nov. 23, 2017, the
court having dismissed additional charges of driving after cancellation and no proof of motor vehicle insurance. Sentenced
July 9 to 120 days in jail, stayed one year with probation and
conditions, and ordered to pay a $300 fine plus court costs and
fees for a total of $390.
James Anthony Koch, 35, Plymouth, pled guilty July 13 to
speeding (79/55) on July 6, and was fined $225.
