Matters of Record


The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the potential punishment exceeds $150 and/or 10 days in jail. It is the Cook County News-Herald’s policy that this information contains a complete record. Requests for items to be withheld will not be granted.

Daniel Frank Cordova, 26, Grand Marais, pled guilty Dec. 11 to felony charges of burglary in the third degree filed Jan. 7, 2018, the court having dismissed additional felony charges of burglary in the second degree while possessing burglary tools and damage to property (damage over $1,000). Granted a stay of imposition of sentence Dec. 26 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, stayed four years with supervised probation and conditions and ordered to pay court costs and fees totaling $1,340 plus $2,053.37 restitution.

Brian Lee Premo, 37, Duluth, pled guilty Jan. 23 to charges of driving after revocation on Dec. 31, 2013, and was fined $200 plus court costs and fees for a total of $290.

Nicholas Joseph Murphy, 27, Ely, pled guilty Jan. 23 to DNR fishing violations (angle or possess fish in closed season) and possession of a small amount of marijuana filed Dec. 29, and was fined $235.
