Matters of Record




The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the potential punishment exceeds $150 and/or 10 days in jail. It is the Cook County News-Herald’s policy that this information contains a complete record. Requests for items to be withheld will not be granted.

Patrick Abalan Duffy, 40, Golden Valley, pled guilty Nov. 24 to charges of driving while impaired (DWI) filed Aug. 3, 2013, and was sentenced to 60 days in jail, stayed six months with probation and conditions and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus court costs and fees for a total of $1,115.

Joey James Nigro, 28, Ontario, pled guilty Dec. 4 to speeding (65/55) and no Minnesota driver’s license on Nov. 17, and was fined $230.

David Charles Vandervort, 52, Hopkins, pled guilty Dec. 11 to a DNR hunting violation (hunting with aid or use of bait) on Nov. 8, and was fined $390.

Larry Wayne Zafft, 67, Grand Marais, pled guilty Dec. 11 to a DNR hunting violation (untagged big game animal) on Nov. 5, the court having dismissed an additional charge of unlawful party hunting, and was fined $190.
