Matters of Record





The Cook County News-Herald publishes Matters of Record to inform the public of arraignments and dispositions of criminal cases in which the potential punishment exceeds $100 and/or 10 days in jail. All fines have additional surcharges and fees and may be much higher. It is the Cook County News- Herald’s policy that this information contains a complete record. Requests for items to be withheld will not be granted.

Robert Frederick Skinner, 51, Tweed, Ontario, pled guilty May 1 to possession of over 1.4 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle on April 11, and was ordered to pay a fine and fees totaling $225.

Leonard John Kremer, 64, Bloomington, pled guilty April 21 to charges of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated filed Nov. 15, 2008. Sentenced to 30 days in jail, stayed two years with probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court costs and fees.

Gregory Emil Johnson, 45, Schroeder, pled guilty April 22 to a charge of domestic assault filed April 6, the county attorney having dismissed an additional charge. Sentenced to 90 days in jail, stayed two years with probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $200 fine plus court costs and fees.

Kent Thomas Bergo, 58, Grand Marais, pled guilty April 22 to a charge of gross misdemeanor driving while intoxicated filed April 5, the county attorney having dismissed an additional charge of speeding. Sentenced to 180 days in jail, stayed two years with probation and conditions, and ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court costs and fees.

Jihyun Hwang, 23, Fargo, N.D., pled guilty April 24 to speeding (74/55) and driving without a valid license on March 23, and was ordered to pay a fine plus court costs and fees totaling $262.
