Mary Jane (Creech) Liverman, 79, died suddenly at her home in Rockville, Maryland on April 20, 2015 of complications following successful surgery for cancer.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. James Liverman, son Jay and his wife Donna, grandchildren Joe and Kate Liverman, sister Bobbie (Creech) Dunn and her husband Joe, and many relatives and friends from childhood to the present.
Mary Jane was born Dec. 9, 1935 to E.L. and May Creech, longtime Grand Marais residents. She grew up in Grand Marais, graduating from Cook County High School in 1953. She graduated from Abbott Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis and enjoyed long rewarding careers in her professions as a nurse and homemaker.
A memorial service will be held at a later date followed by inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made in her memory to either a charity of choice or one long supported by Mary Jane: The Southern Poverty Law Center, 400 Washington Ave., Montgomery, AL 36104.
