Although the weather is still reasonably warm, it’s time to start thinking about ice—curling ice, that is! The Cook County Curling Club is invited anyone ages 12 and up to come and give curling a try at classes in October.
Have you ever wondered what the heck is curling? This class is your opportunity to learn a lifelong sport that, while quite old, is new to the Olympic games. It is a sport that can be enjoyed by all ages. Come and learn what curling is and how to play the sport, and get some ice time playing with Joanne Smith and other Curling Club members.
A minimum of four and maximum of 16 participants are needed to hold the class, which will be held on the ice at the Cook County Community Center on Wednesday, October 12 at 6:30 p.m. with playing time on Wednesday, October 19 at 6:30 p.m.
The fee is $5 for students (12 – 18 years old) and $10 for adults.
To register, call (218) 387-2000 or stop by Cook County Community Education at 101 W. 5th Street, Grand Marais. Enter the school building at the main entrance (Eagle Door).
