Marian Charlotte Robinson Kimball





 

 

Marian Charlotte Robinson Kimball was born Nov 14, 1917 in Willmar, MN to Chester and Ruby (Hilliard) Robinson. She passed away at age 95 on January 8, 2013 at the North Shore Care Center following a brief illness. She married Walter Jerome Kimball on Dec 27, 1944. They farmed in southern MN before moving to their Croftville homestead where they lived for many years. She was primarily a homemaker whose treasured family was her first priority.

Marian was preceded in death by her dedicated husband of 57 years, Walter Jerome Kimball; parents Chester and Ruby Robinson; siblings and their spouses Charles (Adeline) Robinson and Mildred Robinson (E.R. Mike) Croft, and a beloved grandson Larry (Pete) Eliasen.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses Jacqueline (Lars) Christiansen, Susan (Harvey) Genadek, Michael (Kathy) Kimball and Walter “Tim” (Janean) Kimball. Marian is survived by seven grandchildren Jeff Christiansen, Lori Christiansen and Lee Christiansen, Kelly (Stansberry) Eliasen, Jesse Kimball, Cameron (Lacey) Kimball, and Casey Kimball. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren Kyle, Jason, and Kelsey Christiansen, Ryann and Erik Stansberry, and twins Jadin and Jenessa Kimball. Three Kimball sisters-in-laws also survive—Rose, AnnaMae and Marietta along with many cousins, nieces and nephews on both sides of her family.

Marian was cherished by her family and fondly dubbed “Granny” by her grandchildren who absolutely adored her. She was a fun-loving, feisty gal with a quick wit and always ready for an outdoor jaunt or cup of coffee and a card game. She loved to camp, hunt and fish and had the utmost patience if sitting in a boat. She was an excellent cook and baker and crocheted lovely pieces that she gifted to friends and family. She worked her daily crossword puzzles and read her newspaper and movie star and detective magazines with zeal. Always hospitable, Marian had many friends and captured a piece of anyone’s heart who ever knew her. She will be lovingly remembered.

Cremation by the MN Cremation Society and per Marian’s request, no service will be held.
