March is the annual donation campaign and food drive for area AEOA food shelves. The pandemic has shown how important it is to have resources like these available on the Iron Range and across the region. The food shelves are almost fully operated by volunteers with support from folks like us.
Please consider making a financial contribution for your local food shelf. AEOA is the fiscal agent for many in the region. You can direct donations to AEOA at the Virginia office for the following sites: Quad City Food Shelf (serves Eveleth, Gilbert, Virginia, and Mt. Iron residents), Chisholm Food Shelf, Aurora Food Shelf, Proctor Food Shelf, Babbitt Food Shelf, Tower Food Shelf, and the Cook County Food Shelf. Please write in the memo which food shelf you want to support.
The food shelf for Cook County is in Grand Marais and is located in the basement of the Congregational Church. It is open Mondays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the first Wednesday of the month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
For questions, you can call 218-410-0005 or send an email to dani.pieratos@aeoa.org.Miigwech (thank you) for supporting our local food shelves!
