Lights, Camera… Opera! Lyric Opera of the North celebrates the opening of the NorShor with a production of Don Giovanni set in the “Golden Age” of 1930s Hollywood.
In this Mozart-meets-the-movies production, our leading man uses his power to play with the lives of everyone on set. But every action has a consequence, and although he’s well-rehearsed—nothing could prepare him as the line between fantasy and reality blur at the movie studio.
Christina Baldwin directs, Dirk Meyer conducts, and Calland Metts stars in the title role. Also starring: Vicki Fingalson, Sarah Lawrence, Andrew Gangestad, Lee Gregory, Will Bryan, and Erin Persick.
There will be two performances, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. and June 24 at 3 p.m. at the newly renovated Norshor Theater in Duluth, 211 E. Superior Street.
