Lynn Wilson, age 69, of Duluth, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020, at Solvay Hospice House surrounded by family. He was born July 25, 1950, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Edward L. and Carmella (Cherro) Wilson. He graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1969. Lynn married Mary (Bierbaum) in Tofte in 1972. He had a varied career path including Erie Mining Company, retail hardware sales at Northland Hardware in Schroeder, Daugherty Hardware and Burggraf Hardware in Duluth. He was a driver for Jeff Foster Trucking and PRS Transportation.
Lynn was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer advice. He was a wonderful and trusted friend to many. He was the founding fire chief of Schroeder Fire Department serving for 15 years and a Tofte Rescue Squad member. He was past master of the Grand Marais Masonic Lodge #322.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Robert Bierbaum; mother-in-law, Shirley Bierbaum; brother, James and sister, Patricia.
Lynn is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary; daughter, Laura (Bill) Jones; son, Edward Wilson; grandchildren, Melanie, Nina, Broderick, Layla, and Eva; brother, David (Amy) Wilson; sister, Kathleen McKeever; sisters-in-law, Janet (Mark) Jadwin and Jacque (Dan) Nelson and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Mass on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2430 W. 3rd St., Duluth. Inturnment will take place at the Schroeder Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements by Bell Brothers Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home.
