Lynetta Houglum has tried to get a license to hunt moose in Cook County since 1978. This year she and her husband, Sheldon, finally had their name pulled in the Minnesota DNR lottery and, as luck would have it, got their moose. This big fellow had a rack of 48 inches. The Houglums were hunting in the South Shore area of Devil Track Lake. Lynetta and Sheldon shot the moose at 300 yards. “I shot twice, Sheldon, once. It was an awesome hunt, unbelieveable,” said Lynetta.
