Edwin Olaf Vick, 73, of Lutsen, has been charged in connection with the armed robbery that occurred at the Grand Portage Trading Post on October 1, 2009.
Vick was charged in Cook County court on October 14 with aggravated robbery in the first degree, assault in the second degree with a dangerous weapon, and theft of movable property without consent.
This week’s charges followed those filed earlier this month, which are not related to the robbery, including failure to register as a sex offender. Vick is scheduled for another court appearance on October 21.
The trading post robbery suspect wore a ski mask and rubber dishwashing gloves, and a rifle with a silver scope was used. A tip to Cook County Law Enforcement early Monday, October 5 led to Vick’s arrest by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) in the Twin Cities.
