In the last several months, the Ebola outbreak has claimed thousands of lives. The virus has spread rapidly, and with no approved vaccine and a high fatality rate, the World Health Organization is now calling it “one of the world’s most lethal diseases.” Ebola has spread to multiple countries, the hardest hit being Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. The Lutsen Lutheran Church wants to do something to help and is seeking help from the community.
Lutsen Lutheran Church will match community donations up to $5,000 to assist in helping those who are most in need. If a community member gives $20, Lutsen Lutheran Church will give $20. If you give $500, the church will give $500, up to the goal of contributing $10,000 to this cause.
Donations will be sent to Lutheran Disaster Response, where 100 percent of monies donated will go to Ebola relief.
Donations may be dropped off at the church or sent to: Lutsen Lutheran Church, PO Box 145, Lutsen, MN 55612.
