Lutsen supervisors decided to bring back the Lutsen Fall Celebration and they held it on Sunday, October 31 in conjunction with Halloween. Last year no celebration was planned because of COVID-19.
The response was great and about 100 (or more) people came. “It’s very hard to count children who move around in constant motion,” said Sharon Hexum-Platzer, Lutsen Clerk.
Said Hexum-Platzer, “The children each received a goodie bag with prizes and room for candy. Two pinatas were employed in the delivery of candy. Hot cocoa and cider along with grilled hot dogs were topped off with purchased baked goods. In past years we did ask attendees to share potluck and as you may have guessed with Covid we just went with the simple meal. Several local businesses provided prizes for adults who dropped their names in a basket. Already folks are saying, let’s do it again…some prefer indoors because yesterday gave us a bit of wind, rain and SNOW. Well, it is the end of October, right? And it is Lutsen.”
