Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Grand Marais announces a special learning event this summer, made possible with funding from the Lilly Endowment, Inc. Pastor Mark Ditmanson and Bethlehem Lutheran Church received the Clergy Renewal Grant in 2008. The grant provides funding for renewal studies for both pastor and the congregation. The community is invited to participate in this opportunity.
Thelectures, which take place Saturdays at 7 p.m., include May 30 and June 13, The Life and Teaching of St. Paul by Dr. James Boyce; June 27, The Growth of the Early Church by Dr. Philip Anderson; July 11, The Challenges of the Early Church by Dr. Philip Anderson; July 18, God’s Global Mission by Dr. Richard Bliese; and Aug. 8, Our Local Mission by Bishop Thomas Aitken.
These scholars and church leaders will be Sunday morning preachers on the Sunday following their presentations. Join Bethlehem Lutheran for any or all of these opportunities to learn more about the Christian faith. Each evening will also include dessert and coffee.
