Lundorff retires from teaching

Cook County high school and middle school English teacher Stephanie Lundorff notified the school board that she was retiring from teaching English.

“After much consideration, I have decided to retire from English teaching. I am so very grateful to have taught for CCHS and CCMS last year and to have helped in the transition to a new chapter in the English department,” Lundorff wrote in her memo to the board on June 22.

Samantha Savoie, who has one year of teaching experience in the Minneapolis school district, was hired to fill the opening in the English department.

Lisa Bauer is the school’s new technology director.

Bauer has worked as John Jacobsen’s assistant the last school year. Jacobsen is retiring at the end of this month. Bauer officially took the reins on July 1.

Megan Trumper stepped down as the school’s counselor. Trumper was taking over for Kris Hoffman who left for another counseling position in a school district nearer to his family.

Trumper had been shadowing Hoffman since May to learn the ins and outs of the job. The decision to leave, wrote Trumper, was made “with a heavy heart.”

Trumper said she was leaving to be near family who has health concerns.

“I have not yet signed a contract, so I do not believe additional paperwork will be required, but please let me know what I can do to help facilitate a smooth transition and what is needed from me to wrap things up,” Trumper offered.

Three coaches were hired for the coming school year. Ali Iverson will coach junior varsity volleyball. Sharon Dorr agreed to coach the C-squad volleyball team, and Andy Feddema will be the junior varsity boys’ basketball coach.
