A gathering of Lundie cabin and homeowners attended the Lundie-in-the-City home tour and silent auction at the Fiterman House on Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis July 25.

The Fiterman House on Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis was the site of the second Lundie-in-the- City home tour and silent auction July 25, a fundraiser for the Schroeder Area Historical Society.

Besides Lundie’s work on the North Shore, he was the architect of many greater Minnesota structures, which included the Gainey House in Owatonna and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chanhassen.

Highlights of the 2010 tour included talks by Dale Mulfinger, author and architect of SALA Architecture, and Rehn Hassell of Yunker Associates. Hassell spoke about the challenges faced in the remodeling and restoration of the Fiterman House.

The attendees were free to tour the entire house and were treated to wine and chocolates.

Schroeder Area Historical Society thanks all of the contributors to the silent auction, volunteers and docents who made the event a success. Special thanks go to Coralyn Koschinska who orchestrated the soiree atmosphere at the Fiterman House; Andrea Peterson who organized the silent auction; and Steve Lukas (go-to guy) with logistics and for contacting the speakers.

Next year the Lundie Cabin Tour will be held back on the North Shore on July 16 with the famous “picnic on the ledge rock” at the Olson Home designed by Lundie.
