Although the Fisherman’s Picnic Lumber Camp was packed up on Saturday evening, August 4, the lumberjack competition was not over. After a long night of breaking lumber camp, all the logging gear and lumber was loaded and moved north to the Atkinson mill pond on Clearwater Lake. There, on Sunday, August 5, professional and amateur boom running excited spectators.

On the longest and most challenging log booms in the world, professionals and amateurs raced across the floating logs and back to show off their skills in the boom run. Results of the boom run are at right.
