Lucille M. (Jackson) Hunt, 99, Grand Marais, died Sunday July 31, 2011, 11 days before her 100th birthday, in the North Shore Care Center.
She was born August 11, 1911 to Fredrick and Anna (Jacobsen) Jackson in Grand Marais where she grew up. As a young adult, Lucille worked at Jackson’s Bus Depot and Restaurant until she married Chester Hunt in 1934. They lived in Fargo, Minneapolis, and Detroit before returning to Grand Marais in 1972. Upon her return Lucille worked at the North Shore Hospital in the dietary department. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, husband Chester in 1974, son James in 1998, brothers Ralph, Clayton, Fred, Archie, and Eddie Jackson, and sisters Mabel Sonju, Inga Hanson, and Helen Jackson.
She is survived by three grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Lucille’s 100th birthday August 11, 2011 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Grand Marais. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery. To sign the on-line register book please visit www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
