Lucille E. Kjarum





 

 

Lucille E. Kjarum, 82, of Austin, Minn., died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minn.

Lucille was born on April 21, 1930, in Lansing, Minn., to Guy and Hazel (Wilson) Yarwood. She graduated from Austin High School and was married to Roy A. Kjarum, formerly of Hovland, on Dec. 18, 1948, in Austin. Lucille worked in food service at the Austin High School cafeteria for 27 years.

She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and, during the summer months, attended Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Hovland and loved her family, especially her five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy and eight siblings.

Lucille is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Mike Hangge, Arden Hills, Minn., and Judi and Dan McMullen, Conifer, Colo.; son and daughter-in-law Jon and Megen Kjarum, St. Paul; grandchildren Kristin, Aaron, Jae, Jenni and Jeff; great-grandchildren Arissa, Ashlyn Aubrey, Caden, Sam, Avery and Lilly; sisters Alta Gaines, Austin, Marion (Joe) Wolf, Wrightwood, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Monday, Feb. 18 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin.

Memorials honoring Lucille’s life were made to Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota and to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hovland.
