LTTA does not control golf course marketing

At the November 9 board meeting and as reported by the Cook County News-Herald
in its November 13 publication, Commissioner Jan Hall said the county board needs the Lutsen-Tofte Tourism Association (now in partnership with the Cook County Tourism Bureau) to be more accountable for how golf course advertising dollars are being spent.

Please note the following facts:

. LTTA (through its former affiliate partner RMC) has

not managed the golf course since 2002.

. LTTA/Cook County Tourism Bureau has no formal

relationship with the EDA or Cook County with

respect to how Superior National is marketed or with

any other present day golf course operational issues.

. LTTA has no control over any public funds relative to

marketing Superior National Golf Course.

I remain hopeful the county board will:

. Continue to improve their understanding of current

management practices for Superior National Golf

Course.

. Work with the EDA to help find proper direction,

vision, leadership and financial resources to restore this viable regional asset and fulfill the original promise from when it was first developed and originally operated.
