Staff reports

Arrowhead Electric members are once again eligible to participate in a federal program offering heating assistance. Joe Buttweiler, Arrowhead Electric’s director of member services, explained that Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEA), a program funded by the United States Department of Health & Human Services, has released $108 million dollars to the state of Minnesota.

Arrowhead Electric members seeking financial help should contact the Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) for details. Members may contact AEOA’s Virginia, MN office at (800) 662-5711 or may download the application online at www.aeoa.org. LIHEA funds are dispersed based on family size and income.

Members are encouraged to contact AEOA and apply for assistance as soon as possible, as funds are limited.

Buttweiler said members may call 800- 864-3744 or come into Arrowhead Electric Cooperative to learn more about saving on home energy costs.
