Low-cost fencing available for North Shore conifer trees

The North Shore Collaborative (NSFC) is hosting a program to provide low-cost fencing material to private landowners who plant conifer seedlings on their lands along the North Shore of Lake Superior.

Last year, 38 participants planted and fenced more than 1,000 white spruce trees on their property under this program.

The Weekes Family Foundation with the cooperation of Isak Hansen Hardware of Lutsen and Gooseberry Falls State Park provides funding through a grant.

Applications for trees will be accepted until April 7, and selected applicants will be notified shortly thereafter.

Those who are selected will be contacted by email and then provided further information.

The application form is available at the NSFC website at northshoreforest.org/ get-involved/tree-fencing-program/
