Lost hikers thank kind rescuers

I am in love with Grand Marias. I love the beauty, the food (fresh fish!) and the artist community. My affection was deepened when we were in Grand Marias in August and hiked the Pincushion Overlook Trail. We got there largely due to a nice local woman who told us we would need to walk over a large rock to get to the vista. We were not as lucky on our return to the parking lot. Somehow, we took a wrong turn, and our online trail map was not helping. We were hiking and not sure where we were going. Then, answering my prayers, came two women. One had a baby carrier strapped to her front and the other said she was their mother/grandmother- all native to the area. Not only did they help guide us to where we wanted to go (we were hiking the wrong direction) but they delivered us all the way to the parking lot. I knew I like Grand Marais!

I wanted to give them a special thanks though we did not get their names. The grandmother had tattoos on her legs. Thank you both for your kindness and help to two directionally challenged hikers.
