Look to “Guide to Giving” for donations of “time, talent or treasure”

Fellow residents of Cook County:

If you’re thinking of donating “time, talent, or treasure” to any of our region’s fine nonprofit and volunteer groups during this holiday season, the Cook County Community Fund reminds you that the free “Guide to Giving,” recently delivered to your mailbox, provides a ready reference to many of the admirable groups at work in our region worthy of your support.

Our partners at Northern Wilds Media continue to update the list of organizations and contact information on a dedicated website: directory@northernwilds.com. We urge any group inadvertently omitted from the original guide, or those who would like to provide additional contact data, to use that website to provide current information for the public’s immediate use as well as for inclusion in any future print versions. You can access the updated online version of the guide at: www.guide2giving.com.

If you would like extra copies of the guide, or if you’re a second-home owner whose mail is not forwarded during the winter months, please visit the “guide2giving” website or contact Richard Olson at ricson@boreal.org to receive extra copies today.

The Cook County Community Fund was pleased to produce this first-ever directory to nonprofit and volunteer organizations in this region. Many of us, even lifelong residents of Cook County, were impressed as we read through the long and varied list of local organizations devoted to improving life in Cook County. Your support of any of these fine organizations is an investment in the people and the future in this area we are proud to call home.
