Ghosts, goblins, and a gaggle of other googly monsters will be on hand to scare the pants off of you at Jane Ranum’s garage on October 29 – 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The house is located on 121 W. 3rd street in Grand Marais.

Jane and Kelly Ranum and Becky Sturm and Pat Frost are hosting the event. The four have been busy turning the garage into a scare-affair when they aren’t busy with their jobs.

“I wouldn’t call it work. We have a lot of fun when we get together and decorate and plan for this,” said Jane.

“There will also be volunteers helping the three nights the haunted house is open,” Jane said.

The haunted house will feature strobe lights, laser lights, a fog machine and a variety of sound effects. There will be various themes throughout the maze designed to make you scream and feel faint with fear, “but no gory stuff,” said Ranum, who is asking that participants be 10 years or older.

The cost of attending?

“We’re asking participants to bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Cook County Food Shelf,” said Jane, adding, “We want it to be fun for everyone, but we also want to do this to help the community.”
