Lois R. C. Sanger, 100, of Princeton, MN died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge, MN. Lois was born on November 21, 1910 to Lewie F. and Anna M.S. Cartwright living at 6th and Quincy Street in northeast Minneapolis. She graduated in 1928 from Edison High School in Minneapolis and worked at numerous jobs in northeast and downtown Minneapolis. Later she helped manage the family wallpaper and paint business in southeast Minneapolis. In 1935, she married Edward Sanger in Fairbault, MN and moved first to south Minneapolis and later to northeast Minneapolis. Lois was a housewife during child rearing years and was very active in school functions and the PTO. After retiring, the couple ran a fishing tackle jobbing business in central MN and later she assisted in the operation of the family’s cabin rental in Hovland, MN along the shore of Lake Superior. She retired from that activity in the late 1990s. Lois celebrated her 100th birthday party with over 100 family and friends in attendance at Henry’s Catering in Foley, MN. Lois is survived by her son Jon; daughters Susan and Kathleen, all of rural Princeton, MN; brother Roger L. (Kathryn) Cartwright; two grandchildren Ann (Gregg) Fouty, Aimee (Steven) Workman of Isanti and Princeton respectively; four great grandchildren Ceara and Colton Orvis, Steven and Jon-Luke Workman. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
