Jolie Savitsky, Jaclyn Biesemeyer, Taryn Logan, Andrew Lekatz, Abaigeal Clark, Sierra Tietge and Coleton Hardenbrook were sponsored by the North Shore – Two Harbors Rotary Club and recently spent a week attending the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) Camp, held at the University of Minnesota – Crookston campus. There were 124 RYLA campers who were sponsored by 52 Rotary International Clubs from District 5580.

Most of the students who participated in this year’s RYLA camp will be high school seniors in 2009-10.

Camp RYLA’s mission is to provide outstanding high school students with a variety of educational and recreational activities. These activities provide numerous opportunities for leadership and team building, and they are designed to expand, improve and refine the participants’ leadership skills. RYLA campers are sponsored by their local Rotary Club, and hosted by the Crookston Rotary Club, Rotary District 5580, and they stay in residence halls on campus during the weeklong program.

Information about the camp is available by calling (218) 281-8585 or its website campryla.org.
