“Stories and conversations to feed the soul” will be featured at a new hour-long weekly experience called Lifetree Café. It will be held in the Ledgerock Room of Surfside on Superior on the west end of Tofte.
Lifetree Café is “a comfortable place and time to gather and explore life and faith,” according to local director Deborah Lunde. A host directs the hour, which typically includes a short original film and guided conversation.
Topics, which change weekly, focus on life issues such as creativity, health, prayer, homelessness, forgiveness, immigration and life after death.
Open to all interested persons, from high school age and up, this “conversation café” is part of a national network of locations where you can explore life, meet new friends and experience God. The organization’s website, LifetreeCafe.com, invites visitors to participate online in the same topical conversations that occur at the live venues.
National Lifetree Café founder Thom Schultz said, “It’s not enough to simply hear someone lecture on an important topic. People want to share their thoughts, ask questions, and tell their own stories. Lifetree offers a safe place and time to do that.”
Lifetree Café will be 7 to 8 p.m. every Wednesday, starting May 14. Admission is free. Snacks and beverages are available. Lifetree Cafe is sponsored by Zoar Lutheran Church of Tofte. For more information, call 218-663- 7925.
