Grand Marais Family Dentistry is participating in the “Give Kids a Smile” program for the first time. This is a statewide program promoted by the Minnesota Dental Association where our dentist, Dr. Alyssa Hedstrom and her staff, volunteer their time, services and resources, free of charge, to children of the community in recognition of Dental Health Awareness Month.
This program is offered one day only statewide and will take place this year on Saturday, Feb. 5. Call the dental office at (218) 387-2774 to make an appointment. This new opportunity is especially valuable because of the in-office dentist-performed exam with accessibility to X-ray equipment for assessment. In addition, cleaning and fluoride will be an offered service.
“Give Kids a Smile” program is offered to the community instead of “Just for Kids Dental” in the 2011 school year. If your child has been a recipient of this schoolbased program in the past and you have individual circumstances that create barriers to attending “Give Kids a Smile,” contact the ISD 166 health office at (218) 387-2271, ext. 633 to make other arrangements or for more information about scholarships available for transportation or dental care.
