American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) has announced that Grand Marais writer Susan May Warren was once again named a finalist in its prestigious Carol Awards.
According to the association, “With over 300 entries in this year’s contest, making the finalists list is a noteworthy accomplishment.” Warren’s historical fiction, Sons of Thunder, is one of three finalists in the “long historical” category.
The award winners in each category will be announced September 24 at the annual American Christian Fiction Writer’s conference in St. Louis, Missouri.
“Garnering a Carol Award is a crowning achievement for any author,” said Janet Koboel Grant of the literary agency Books & Such of Santa Rosa, California.
According to Chip MacGregor, president of MacGregor Literary Inc. of Hillsboro, Oregon, “It’s clear that the Carol Award, presented each year by ACFW, has become one of the most prestigious awards given to Christian novelists. It has earned its place in the world of publishing.”
Susan May Warren has already won the Carol award three times. About her previous accolades, Warren said, “What an honor to receive an ACFW Carol Award from the largest organization of Christian fiction in the nation, because it represents all the best that our industry has to offer.”
ACFW has more than 2,500 members and 29 local chapters in 18 states as well as a beyond-theborders e-chapter.
